Debio R.P. is a pharmaceutical research, development and production facility that is Swissmedic and ANVISA (Brazil) certified as well as FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) inspected and registered.
The Company, a world leader in polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA)-based injectable, sustained-release technology, achieved prominence in 1986 with the launch of the drug Decapeptyl®, a novel injectable controlled-release formulation of triptorelin - a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist analogue.This mode of administration developed by Debio R.P. relies on the active substance being "wrapped" in a PLGA polymer to allow gradual dissolution and distribution of the substance in the patient's body.
Milestones
The Company has succeeded in producing 1-month, 3-month and 6-month sustained-release (SR) formulations. It is also focusing on nanoparticular drug delivery systems.

Dr Sager received his Diploma of Chemist from the University of Lausanne in 1996 and then obtained his Ph.D. in Peptide Chemistry, in 2001. He joined Debio R.P. in 2001 as QC Engineer. In 2004, he became Manufacturing Director, taking over the responsibility of the production. In 2011, Dr Sager took the Direction of Operations of Debio R.P. and he became CEO in 2012.

Dr Bardet received her Diploma of Chemist from the University of Paris VI in 1990 and then obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry and Health, from the University of Aix Marseille I in 1994. She joined Debio R.P. in 2001 as Chemist in the Analytical Development department. Then she held different positions in the Pharmaceutical Development department. In 2010, she was appointed Project Management & Scientific Director.

Dr Bokman received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Protein Chemistry in 1993 from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh (PA). She joined Debiopharm SA in 1998 as Development & Process of API Manager. In 2001 she became Biotech API Contract Manufacturing Manager. She took over the responsibility of Debio R.P.’s Quality Control as QC Director in 2005, and she became Regulatory, Optimization and Industrialisation Director in 2011.

Dr Galy received his Diploma of Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Lyon and obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and DESS quality, in 1991. He later specialised in Forensic science in Paris V - 1995. He joined Debio R.P. in 1998, first as Operations Manager and as of 2000 as Director of Manufacturing Operations. In August 2005, he took over his current responsibilities as Logistics & Strategic Planning Director.

Dr Garrouste completed his M.Sc. in Biochemistry and his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry at the Université des Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc (USTL) in Montpellier, France (1995). He then joined the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Lausanne, Switzerland, where he was First assistant from 1995 to 1998. In 1998, he joined the Pharmaceutical Development Department at Debio R.P.. He held first a position of Analytical Development Assistant followed by a position of Head of Analytical Development (2001). In 2004, he took over the responsibility of the department as Pharmaceutical Development Director.

Dr Griffoul received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, DEA-Biopharmacy and galenical research from the University of Paris XI in 1980. He obtained an MBA from the University of Strasbourg Schiller in 1993. He joined Debio R.P. in 2006 as Process Improvement Director and in 2007 became Technical Services Director as well.

Mr. Imboden received his Master Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Lausanne in 1999. He achieved a «Brevet Fédéral de Spécialiste en Gestion des Ressources Humaines» in 2004. He joined Debio R.P. in 2001 as HR collaborator. In 2002 he became HR Manager and in 2004 he took over the responsibility of the administration department as Administration & HR Director.
